We want to make it easier for our customers to reduce their environmental impact and create a greener world. So we’ve partnered with Caplor Energy to give you more options for generating and storing your own renewable electricity.

To fight climate change, the UK needs to use more renewable energy. By generating or using renewable power, you’ll make your home greener as well as reduce your energy bills long term. And by exporting what you don’t use to the National Grid, you’ll also be helping to make the whole grid greener.

With rising energy prices, more people are choosing to generate their own renewable electricity so interest in renewable technologies is growing.

What do Caplor Energy offer?

Caplor are a family-run company, who provide renewable energy solutions for homes and businesses. They were one of the first energy firms to be accredited with the Microgeneration Certification Scheme, and have been installing renewable generation systems for decades. The video below demonstrates how this partnership is beneficial to our customers.

These are some of the services that they offer:

Solar panels

Solar panels are a great way to generate renewable electricity at home as they are one of the most reliable forms of generation, working even on cloudy days. These can be coupled with battery storage to store electricity for when you need it most, further reducing the amount you would need to buy from your energy supplier.

Caplor will talk through the options that are best for your property, including the type and size of solar panels that would be best, and whether you’d like to include a battery.

Cleaning and maintenance

If you’ve had your solar panels for a while, it’s important to check they’re in good condition and generating as much as possible.

As well as installing your renewable technologies, Caplor also provide maintenance to make sure they’re working efficiently. They provide solar panel cleaning and inverter maintenance to ensure that you can maximise your electricity generation and any payment you receive for exporting to the grid.

Heat pumps

Heat pumps are relatively new renewable technologies that come in two main types: ground source and air source heat pumps. The type of pump that is best for your home will depend on a number of factors including: the type of building; the age of the property; and available garden or outdoor space. Caplor can work with you to determine which type is best for your home.

In April 2022, the government is launching the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, which will give people access to a grant of up to £6,000 towards the cost of installing a heat pump. As the installer, Caplor will take all of the stress out of getting a heat pump fitted, as they will apply for the grant on your behalf to save you time.
